Harvest
Born in one of the most vocated areas of Abruzzo, from an old vineyard trained to Tendone, at an ideal altitude to ensure a formidable temperature range and with a magnificent exposure.

Vinification
A vinification carried out in thermo-conditioned steel vats followed by a malolactic fermentation and subsequent maturation for 6 months in cement tanks, and then bottling in the total absence of oxygen.

How to match
Sottovento Montepulciano d’Abruzzo DOC

Serve this wine at 14-16 degrees Celsius, preferably in a large goblet, and always uncork it a little before serving so that it can open up well and express itself at its best.

Impeccable on any occasion, it can be enjoyed alone or in company, preferably with well-structured and tasty dishes: aperitifs, hors d’oeuvres, vegetarian dishes, red meats and medium- and long-aged cheeses.

Grape variety characteristics

The vine has found wide diffusion in Abruzzo and along the Adriatic coast. The variety is fairly homogeneous, the differential characters concern the shape of the bunch, the presence of green millerandage before maturation, the ripening time, and the organoleptic characteristics of the product.

It gives an intense ruby red colored wine, with a characteristic, vinous scent, dry, fruity, tannic, not acidic, of good body structure, velvety, rightly alcoholic.
