A vinification in thermo-conditioned steel vats, followed by malolactic fermentation, a 6 months maturation in cement tanks, then 30 months in 50hl barrels, to be bottled in the total absence of oxygen and aged for at least 8 months.
Sensual, intense, and remarkably persistent. It confirms the floral and roasted notes of the nose and reveals pleasant hints of spice, licorice, and tobacco.
Impenetrable ruby.
Floral notes and fruit jam, violets, coffee, cocoa.
Ripe blackberry, undergrowth, spices, pepper, and tobacco.
The Montepulciano d’Abruzzo DOCG Riserva of the Turan Collection – produced by Torri Cantine – originates between Colonnella and Controguerra, in the province of Teramo, in a magnificent 50-year-old vineyard.
The vine is trained with the canopy system and grows at an altitude of 290 meters with a perfect south / south-east exposure.
It comes from 100% Montepulciano d’Abruzzo grapes obtained from a strict, manual harvest at the end of October.
Wine-making process in thermo-conditioned steel tanks, following a malolactic fermentation and a subsequent maturation of 6 months in the concrete tanks.
Aging: Minimum 30 months in large barrels. 8 months in the bottle, without oxygen.
It is a very good wine to drink at 16-18 °c but also a little more and only after waiting a few minutes after opening, and possibly with a large wine glass.
It is the perfect wine: you can enjoy it whether during moments of meditation or with some friends. Appropriate with structured and tasty dishes but also with aperitifs or starters, red meat, vegetarian dishes, and short and long seasoning cheese.
Let’s imagine a carpaccio with grated parmesan flakes, maltagliati pasta with ragú meta sauce, fillet in the crust, or pepper grilled seasonal vegetables or with semi-seasoned or seasoned cheese.
The vine has found wide diffusion in Abruzzo and along the Adriatic coast. The variety is fairly homogeneous, the differential characters concern the shape of the bunch, the presence of green millerandage before maturation, the ripening time, and the organoleptic characteristics of the product.
It gives an intense ruby red colored wine, with a characteristic, vinous scent, dry, fruity, tannic, not acidic, of good body structure, velvety, rightly alcoholic.
