It originates from one of the most suitable areas of Abruzzo for growing wine, from an old vineyard trained with the Tendon-system, at an ideal altitude to ensure a formidable thermal excursion and with a magnificent exposure.

Vinification is carried out in thermo-conditioned steel vats, followed by 4 months of refinement in cement tanks and then bottling in the total absence of oxygen.

Pecorino DOC of the Bakán Collection grows in the area of Ancarano, in the province of Teramo, in an Abruzzi pergola cultivation, with a magnificent south-southeast exposure and at an altitude of 290 meters above sea level.

This 100% Pecorino-grape wine originates from an over thirty-year-old vine. It is harvested manually during the first ten days of September from certified organic farming.

Vinification is carried out in thermo-conditioned steel tanks, followed by at least 4 months of refinement in cement tanks, and then bottled in the total absence of oxygen.

How to match
Bakàn Pecorino Abruzzo DOC

A wine to be served chilled, at 6-8 degrees maximum, with aperitifs, hors d’oeuvres, seafood, vegetarian dishes, white meats, and fresh or medium-aged cheeses.

Think of raw fish or seafood kebabs, tagliolini with clams and porcini mushrooms, bavette al pesto with potatoes and green beans, roast guinea fowl, or a nice caciotta Abruzzese.

Grape variety characteristics

It gives wines of a pale straw yellow color, high acidity, with a fruity, fresh aroma and spicy notes.

Good structure. It can produce excellent still wines that can age well and sparkling wines of undoubted quality.
